Job Description
Position Summary:
We are seeking a Process Engineer to develop and continuously improve our lithography printing processes. This role is critical in realizing the potential of our proprietary scaffolded 3D nanofabrication processes and help scale the platform from rapid prototyping to high-volume production. The Process Engineer will work cross-functionally with materials, metrology, design and optics teams to create and refine manufacturing processes.
What you'll do:
Develop and optimize the entire lithography printing workflow, including pre-print substrate preparation and post-print development processes.
Develop, document, and implement standard operating procedures (SOPs) and best practices.
Design, conduct, and analyze experiments to characterize and enhance resolution, accuracy, repeatability, and throughput, including basic test structure generation. Transfer findings into SOPs and maintenance/calibration routines.
Maintain lithography systems and ensure system stability and reliability.
Collaborate with optics, design and software engineers to develop, verify and implement new lithography system features. Understand customer/product requirements and required capabilities/features to achieve project success.
Collaborate with the materials team to develop and implement new chemistry, substrate, and materials processing techniques.
Work with mechanical engineers to optimize substrate fixturing and ensure mechanical stability and repeatability.
Analyze process data using statistical methods to drive continuous improvement.
What you bring:
Proven experience in lithography, precision manufacturing equipment, or related disciplines.
Ability to work closely with interdisciplinary teams including optical design, materials R&D and metrology.
Hands-on experience with lithography systems, calibration, and troubleshooting.
Familiarity with statistical process control (SPC), Design of Experiments (DOE), and process validation methodologies.
Experience with basic scripting (python preferred) for science/engineering.
Strong problem-solving skills and a detail-oriented mindset, particularly in the context of manufacturing repeatability and process improvement.
Additional Information:
This is an opportunity to join a collaborative and innovative team where your work will directly contribute to the realization of groundbreaking optical technologies. The Optical Metrology Engineer will play a key role in building measurement capabilities that support both product development and manufacturing at scale.
Compensation and Benefits
The salary range for this role is $110,000-$150,000 and includes equity. We are committed to equitable compensation across our company. We handle our healthcare benefits through an annual reimbursement to give our employees greater flexibility with the plans that meet their needs. We offer a Flexible Paid Time Off policy and encourage people to take regular vacation.
