In July 2025, the State of California implemented the Personal Leave Program (PLP) 2025. This program temporarily reduces employees’ monthly base pay in exchange for paid leave credits. This position is subject to PLP 2025 and will have a monthly base pay reduction of 3% in exchange for 5 hours of leave credits through June 2027. Under the direction of the Information Technology Supervisor II (IT Sup II), the Information Technology Specialist I (ITS I) provides information technology (IT) contract management, and reporting services for the Enterprise Portfolio Management Office (ePMO). The ITS I has extensive contact with staff at all levels within ITSD and the CDPH business programs. In addition, they have contact with the Administration Division, Director’s Office, Office of Legal Services, other departments, vendors, and Control Agencies. The ITS I is responsible for all aspects of successful IT contract management, including contract risk and issue management, removing blockers to contract management success, and representing CDPH in various internal and external meetings. The ITS I exercises sound judgment; effectively manages IT contracts per SCM Volume 1 chapter 9, and ePMO policies and procedures. The ITS I supports IT project managers, adhering to SIMM 19, in ensuring associated contracts meet control agency-imposed deadlines for IT project approval, development, and closing and reporting processes, which are critical components of meeting the ePMO mission to deliver successful technology solutions that advance the missions of CDPH public health business programs.
The ITS I will perform duties within the Business Technology Management and Information Technology Project Management domains.

Telework Information
This position may be eligible for telework. The amount of telework permitted is at the discretion of the Department and is subject to change, consistent with CDPH’s Telework Program. All employees who telework are required to be California residents in accordance with Government Code 14200. Travel may be required for this position. Reimbursement for travel takes into consideration an employee’s designated headquarters, as reflected in the duty statement, and is subject to regulations and bargaining unit contract provisions. Experience with facilitating meetings.
Experience with budget tracking and contract management.
